The Million Dollar Man? Not So Fast, My Friend

Revis Island

Revis is turning down $1 million a year because he wants to be the highest paid Cornerback in the league. He wants around $15 million.

Revis Island should probably now be called Greedy Island.

The Jets’ owner says “My impression is no progress … no movement whatsoever” regarding resigning Revis.

What say you – do you think Revis is acting like an idiot?

Revis is currently the ONLY player in the league who is actually UNDER contract but not in camp. I semi don’t blame hime though, considering NFL contracts aren’t guaranteed, you gotta “get paid” when you can. On a personnal note, I hate the Jets, so I hope he sits out the whole year. lol

He falls into the same category as C.J. and Andre Johnson, all 3 are the best at their respective positions (except I’m still not completely sure about Andre). CJ’s problem is the Titans obviously had no clue how good he was so he signed a basic rookie deal, Andre represented himself instead of getting an agent and signed a deal that benefited the team more than him. Revis DESERVES to be the top paid corner but at the same time, you signed the deal. I mean I can’t go into work tomorrow and say hey I’m 2nd in the store in sales, I deserve to be paid as much as the first person and expect them to oblige. Just because you played top notch last season doesn’t mean you will this year or you won’t get hurt (ask Elvis Dumervil).
